Sound great at first but distort after about 4 months.

I originally would give this system 5 stars based on the fact that it would drastically outperform other systems in this price range. The reason for the 3 stars is due to the fact that after several months of use at moderate listening levels that a nasty distortion started to form coming from the left and right speakers. Turns out that the tweeters are not tweeters at all! They are a thick stamped aluminum foil! These were the cause of the terrible distortion! They are only held in place with a little glue and a piece of tape, no wonder they distorted! The fronts are only glued in by four pegs so after a while of use you can expect distortion from the cabinets themselves at high volumes. Now to the full range 2" drivers; These drivers were great for the first couple months, then I began noticing my listening experience was growing in to fatigue. I do not blast these speakers and only raise the volume moderately during movies. I began noticing the 2000 - 6000 KHz range was really coming out almost muffling higher frequencies and really fatiguing the ears. I think it has something to do with the crossover or the treble knob. The components are really cheap so I am thinking one of the components is failing or has failed. The subwoofer is actually well put together and can really pack a punch! You will not get super lows though as it cuts off around 60 Hz. The cabinet has a dual flared port tube which is a great feature eliminating distortion. At low levels the speakers and system sound flawless and are crisp and clear. I am a bit of a sound snob so it could just be me when it comes to the performance of this system. I even think Bose is overrated. lol

amazing for the buck

these monitors blew me away, for so little $$$ and space they pack a perfect amount of sound. im starting my own home studio and these are doing the job greatly. the orange and black looks sick and the bass/treble control lets you custom the sound making sure you dont overdrive the tone. if you a little bump for little bucks. get this.
