Product Description
Get everything you need for a great sounding home theater speaker setup in a single box! You get four satellite speakers and a center channel speaker for the mid- and high-range audio signals, plus an 8-Inch powered subwoofer to handle the low frequencies. All the speakers come with an attractive black finish and convenient spring-loaded signal connectors. The center speakers use two 3-Inch shielded mid-range cones, while the satellites employ one 3-Inch cone and a 1/2-Inch dome tweeter. However, don't let the small size fool you! These 8 ohm speakers will handle up to 125 watts of power from your home theater receiver at frequencies from 150 Hz to 20 kHz. The subwoofer is powered by a 60 watt (RMS) amplifier, driving a downward firing 8-Inch cone. It can take either line or speaker-level inputs, so can be used with any amplifier, even older amps without dedicated subwoofer outputs. The subwoofer handles frequencies between 50 Hz to 250 Hz and includes adjustable crossover frequency and volume balance controls. Also included in the box are four C brackets for mounting the satellite speakers to the wall and the necessary hardware for mounting the speakers to the brackets. A pair of plastic feet to properly orient the face of the center speaker is also included. Note that you will need to provide your own hardware for mounting the C brackets to the wall or other vertical surface. Don't let the low price fool you! This speaker system sounds great and will fill your room with high-quality, full-spectrum sound! Note: The speaker wire connectors on each unit comfortably accept a maximum 16 gauge speaker wire. For best results use pin-type speaker plugs to make the speaker connections and banana or pin-type plugs to connect the wires to your amplifier.

Just got these speakers today and I must say, I am pretty impressed. For the price they have great sound and look nice as well. They work great in my bedroom on my older 4.1 receiver!
My major complaint with these speakers is the speaker connections. They are a pain to use. They are the kind that you have to hold down and then push the wire into. The center channel in particular was difficult to attach a wire to. You would need very small very agile fingers to do it easily. I was able to do it after about ten minutes of messing with it. I guess once they are set up this isn't a bid deal, but it sure made the setup precess lengthy.
Also, for some reason there are no mounting screws for the wall mounts. There are screws to attach the speakers to the mounts, but nothing to attach them to the walls. I don't know if this is just an issue with my set or true with all sets. This sin't a huge deal, just a bit annoying.
I would say that if you are looking for a decent set of cheap speakers pick these guys up. The sound is outstanding, there are just a few small issues that can be over looked for speakers at less than $100. I actually picked them up on sale and got them for $83 WITH shipping! Very happy with them at that price!
One Month Update:
After using these speakers for about a month now I can honestly say that they only get better. After you pass the 'break-in' period they really start to shine. They have amazing depth of field and sound clarity. Obviously, they aren't as good as a Energy or Paradigm system, but those cost 10-20 times as much. Either way, I am very impressed with them. They work great for my bedroom! I even think they sound better than the Polk Audio system I have in the living room that cost twice as much and didn't even include a sub!
Six Month Update:
I am loving these speakers even more. I recently upgraded my receiver to an older, but still good, Sony 5.1 unit. It has made a huge difference. Sound is fuller and clearer with great depth of filed. I just got done watching The Hunger Game on Blu-Ray and I was blown away by these speakers using Dolby Digital. Now I can certainly say that they sound better than my Polk Audio's that cost twice as much. Vocals are very clear and bass is punchy but not boomy. I am a bit of an audiophile and fairly picky about sound and I would still recommend these speakers!
ONE YEAR UPDATE
After using these speakers for about a year now I still really like them. I still think they are one of the best sounded speakers at this price point. I have had no issues with them over the past year. As a matter of fact, they only get better as the break in more and more.

This 5.1 blows away anything at 2 - 3 times the price. Maybe more. I'm mostly wanting people to know just how great an item this is before they go out and buy an all in one cheap on sale Christmas item. Very easy to setup. But take the time...do it right. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and pretty patient setting things like this up. Be aware: this system has no speaker wire. No problem. Just go to your local home improvement store and invest in some quality 16 gauge wire. Please be aware of this also: This is best suited for a bedroom...or at most, a medium sized room. Don't expect this to sound like my 7.1 Onkyo. A few have expected this little boy to rattle the walls in a larger room. It's just not made for it. But if you need something that will absolutely shock you for the price for a bedroom, den, or 'man-cave' then this is it. 90% or better reviews all over the web. I bought some good banana plugs & pin connectors that I'm still working with. (YouTube has some good tutorials on banana plugs)
As I said, I'm not done dialing this in but anyone can very easily with the correct extras. I will update my review soon. I just wanted to get something out there so not too many poor souls waste their money on some cheap home theater all in one Christmas sale item. This is not a plug and play. You will need a receiver to use this. But I guarantee you will be very, very happy with this when hooked up properly. No tax. Free shipping - cheapest place on the Web.
There is no bracket for the center channel. This does however come with brackets for the rest of the speakers so you can mount where you please.
I need to talk about the sub woofer. This puppy really cooks. I like that there is a separate control for the volume and the frequency. So far I've learned that leaving the volume where you want it then playing with the frequency is the best way. In apartments be careful of the neighbors. Movies sound wonderful once everything is dialed in. This system really does the trick. And for under $100.00 w/ shipping. One of the best kept secrets around. Buy this.

CAUTION! THIS IS FRAUDULENT. THERE IS NO 108247 MODEL, THIS IS MODEL 8247 AND COSTS $85 AT MONOPRICE.

This is fraudulent. There is no 108247 system from Monoprice. This system is the 8247 and does NOT retail for $250 but rather for $85 and is available from Monoprice at that price plus shipping. It seems the "10" added to the model number is intended to confuse people into thinking this is a more expensive system than it is.
