Each Micca Core Series in-wall/in-ceiling speaker utilizes a polypropylene cone woofer with rubber surround and a 1/2 inch PEI dome tweeter in a co-axial aligned arrangement. 5Amazing value

I bought both this and the larger 8-inch model, wrote the following review for the 8-inch model and wanted to paste it here too since this model has no reviews so far:

We bought both this and the smaller and slightly cheaper 6-inch model for a basement remodeling. We were just after some background sound so we didn't care to install any expensive speakers. We first bought a different brand due to similarly attractive price but was shocked to see that the speaker structure on the back that's supposed to be metal is made entirely out of plastic and promptly returned them. Anyway these were about the same price, but with almost no reviews, so we ordered with our fingers crossed. The received product matched the photos, and I was relieved to find that the speakers while simple in construction and configuration, appeared to be very well made and packaged.

Installation was very easy using the included hole template. We just cut a hole using our Amazon-bought hole cutter, route the wire using a wire snake tool, also Amazon-bought, and installed these Amazon-bought speakers. Running the wires takes 80% of the time and effort, after which these speakers pretty much just drop in. They look great too.

The sound was excellent. I don't know what anyone can expect for $20-$25 a speaker, but these sound excellent to my ears. I dare say they are similar in quality to the JBL bookshelf speakers in my office that I spent $150 on. The sound is clear and crisp, and they can get LOUD. So not just good background music, but they can definitely rock the house. Bass is a little on the light side in the 6-inch model but that was expected. The 8-inch model had a good amount of bass output and it was enough for my needs. I see since I bought them, a couple of other reviews have shown up with something positive to say about it.

So what you get here is great speakers for cheap. I wouldn't hesitate to use these again in other projects and would wholeheartedly recommend them.

4Great quality for the price!

This is a great quailty product especially for the money. I like the fact that the cones are not cardboard. I installed them in my basement to use with my surround system. These aling with the sub I already had make movies sound great. Only downside is the low end isn't the greatest with these speakers, so listening to loud mosuc isn't great, but good.
