Kicker KB6000 Black Full Range indoor/outdoor Speakers. The KB6000 Full Range Indoor/Outdoor Speakers are now a full-range, high-efficiency speaker system truly suitable for indoor and outdoor use, providing an 8-Ohm load and ready to be driven by home stereo receivers. That legendary KICKER sound is now made to rock from a backyard deck, under the eaves, or near the pool, and it still provides great sound on a boat, off-road vehicle or RV. The dual-enclosure system features bold 6-1/2 -inch KICKER woofers and 2 x 5-inch, compression-loaded horn tweeters firing a favorite music mix. The woofers utilize precisely tuned polypropylene cones and rugged Santoprene surrounds. The system acoustically blends with a 12dB/octave low-pass crossover with impedance compensation to nail that signature sound. The solid molded enclosures protect the audio components from weather, and they can be mounted with stainless-steel hardware at several angles for easy installation. Spring-loaded terminals allow for fast and easy wiring connections. Dimensions: 8" L x 8" W x 11" H Weight: 6.8 lbs.

Simply astonishing.

I consider myself a audiophile, and was looking for a boat stereo system on a budget. I originally orderd Yamaha NS-AW350 2-Way Indoor/Outdoor Speakers (Pair, Black)and was dissapointed by nearly everything about the speaker. The sound from my 10 year old Sony boom box was better, and they had no bass. After returning thouse and paying $13 in shipping (their also huge for no reason). I reserched Bose outdoor products. After finding several on the internet for around the same price, I realised a 3 inch single woofer wouldent be enough, so I took a risk and ordered the KICKER's. Best risk I've ever taken on amazon, the sound and design rivals $400 klipsch outdoor speakers, but the KICKERS have MORE BASS!@#!# The whole speaker looks remarkinly identical to the klipsch speakers, including klipschs invention "the horn tweeter". You would be insane to buy any other outdoor speaker besdies these.

I use the speakers with a 20 watt per channel lepai tri-amp, and it allows them to produce a yard filling sound with extreme efficency off our marine battery. If your going to run these indoors I recommend something over 40 watts per channel to drive them, if you want to crank them up'

A Nice Addition to My Deck

I bought these to add music to my deck. For the summer, I commandeered one of my Sonos systems (55W/channel RMS) for summertime use and hooked it up to these speakers.

=== The Good Stuff ===

* I love the sound. I always find Kicker speakers to be bright and crisp, and these are no exception. Bass response is a little on the low side, but what can you expect for small speakers. Quite honestly, I am not a big fan of booming bass, so it works out well for me.

* The speakers seem reasonably well constructed. They are solid, weigh a couple pounds each, and look fairly decent mounted to my deck railings. According to Kicker, they are fine to leave out all winter, but I will probably bring these in during the winter months. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so there is no reason to let them sit out in 6 months of rain.

* I ran about 100' of 14ga speaker wire to them, and the volume is more than I would ever want to listen to. Turning them up fairly loud still gives sharp and crisp sound,

=== The Not-So-Good Stuff ===

* I am not a fan of the included brackets. They are made of fairly light steel, and seem a little flimsy for the speakers. They are holding up fine, and no sign of sag. Still, would have liked something a bit more robust.

* For my mounting application, I had to use the center holes in the bracket. I needed to hunt up a few washers to use the included screws.

* Very strange language in the warranty. After describing these as all weather speakers, the manual lists the Kicker Warranty exclusions. Warranty is void if speakers are exposed to UV light or moisture. That prompted me to call Kicker, who assured me that they are fine for outdoor use and to ignore the warranty exclusions. Based on experience, I trust Kicker-but still kind of awkward.

=== Summary ===

I have very happy with these, especially for the price. The sound is great for the kind of music I like to listen to (Classic Rock, Strong vocals, Brass), but if you are looking for killer booming bass, maybe consider adding a subwoofer.

Perfect for front yard tunes in rural Oklahoma!

Excellent product. I've always been partial to Kicker audio components. These speakers are a little weak on the bass side, but for their size they're GREAT. They fill my 1/2 acre front yard with music and have plenty to spare.
